DAY 1: OUARZAZATE VIA ROSES VALLEY, CANYON DADES, TINGHIR AND TODRA GORGEOUS :
Arrival at Ouarzazate, a city known for its film studios and the location of many films such as Lawrence of Arabia, Cleopatra, Asterix, Kingdom of Heaven, and Gladiator.
We are leaving today for Skoura, where the mountain track begins. This trail passes through some remote Berber villages before turning around at 4100 meters to reach the Roses Valley and then the Dades Canyon. From Boumalne to Tinerghir, with a stop to the Todra Canyon. We stay in a local hotel in Tinerghir for the night and dinner.
DAY 2: TINEGHIR – ALNIF – RISSANI – MERZOUGA DUNES:
After breakfast, drive to Alnif, a wonderful trail that runs between the Djbel Sahro and the Djbel Ougnat mountains. Alnif is famous around the world for its fossils. Following lunch in Alnif, we continue to Rissani, the capital of the Tafilalet province and the birthplace of the current royal dynasty. We drive from Rissani to Merzouga over the Erg Chebbi desert. In the Merzouga desert, spend the night and dinner in a nice desert camp.
DAY 3: MERZOUGA – Ouzina – TAFRAOUT – M’HARECH :
Today we leave for Taouz in order to access the Paris Dakar track, which runs along the Ziz river valley. The trail will take us to the Ouzina oasis and then across sand dunes to the lonely village of Ouzina.will reach in the remote village of Ramlia, then cross via a tough pass into the dry sandy river Rheris, then continue a trail between small mountains to Tafraout. Dinner and overnight in a Riad/Hotel.
DAY 4: MHARECH – TAFRAOUT – TAGOUNITE – ZAGORA:
Today we will begin on a dry lake and proceed via a few sandy passes to a lonely sand plateau along the Algerian border known as Dinosaurs Valley because to the large quantity of dinosaur bones found here. Then we’ll pass a small mountain with a few copper and lead mines before heading down to Tagounite village in the Draa valley. We stayed in a local hotel in Zagora for the night.
DAY 5: ZAGORA – OUARZAZATE
Today we’ll set out along the Draa River, passing through some lovely tiny villages. Along the valley, we’ll notice the date palm, which is the area’s first source of income. We’ll follow the Draa River up to Agdz, where we’ll join the route that leads to Ouarzazate over the Black Mountains.
